How It Works

Once your Student Agreement is signed and your initial payment is confirmed, your RPL journey begins — here's what to expect at each stage.

1
Collect Your Evidence
Using your personalised checklist, gather evidence that demonstrates your skills and experience. This may include employment records, certificates, photos, videos, or supervisor references. Your Navigator will guide you every step of the way.
2
Receive Your Enrolment & RPL Docs
We'll send your Enrolment Form and LLN Assessment to complete first. Following that, you'll receive your SelfAssessment Form and Third-Party Verification Form to work through carefully before moving to the next step.
3
Submit Your Completed Forms
Complete and sign all required forms, then return them along with your full evidence portfolio. Ensure every section is filled in, all signatures are included, and all supporting documents are attached before submitting.
4
Assessment and Competency Review
Your RTO Assessor will review and map your evidence against the required unit competencies. Where further clarification is needed, a competency conversation will be conducted to confirm your knowledge and skills.
5
Outcome Issued
Once assessed as competent across all required units, the RTO will formally issue your certificate or Statement of Attainment. Your real-world experience is now officially recognised as a nationally accredited qualification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice through RPL instead of studying full-time?
Yes, you can gain a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice through RPL, which recognises the project management skills you already use at work through a formal assessment process instead of full-time study. You'll still work with the partner RTO, which carries out a genuine assessment of your evidence before the qualification is issued.
How much project experience do I need to apply for RPL for this qualification?
There's no fixed number of years — what counts is being able to show real evidence that you've done the work, such as project plans, schedules, reports or scope documents you've authored, plus supervisor or client testimonials confirming your role. Meeting minutes and other project records can also help build the picture assessors need to match your experience against each unit.
Is an RPL Certificate IV in Project Management Practice the same as one from TAFE?
Yes, a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice issued through RPL is the exact same nationally recognised qualification as one earned through full-time study, with identical units of competency on the certificate. It's issued by the ASQA-registered RTO that assesses your evidence, not by ATSR, which guides you through the RPL process as your pathway navigator.
What jobs can I get with a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice?
This qualification supports roles such as Contracts Officer, Project Administrator and Quality Officer, where you're managing contracts, coordinating project documentation or supporting compliance across a project. It's formal backing for people already doing this kind of work on projects without a recognised qualification behind them.
