CPC32620 Certificate III in Roof Plumbing

Formal recognition for roof plumbers who install, maintain and repair flashings, metal roof and wall claddings and rainwater products on buildings.
Overview

Get recognised for the roof plumbing skills you’ve already built on the tools. The CPC32620 Certificate III in Roof Plumbing formally recognises the ability to install, maintain and repair flashings, metal roof and wall claddings, and rainwater drainage systems such as gutters and downpipes across residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Through RPL, ATSR helps you gather evidence of your real-world roof plumbing work and guides you to a partner RTO, who assesses that evidence against this nationally recognised qualification and issues the certificate once you demonstrate competency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a Certificate III in Roof Plumbing through RPL without a full apprenticeship?
Yes, you can gain a Certificate III in Roof Plumbing through RPL, which recognises the roof plumbing skills you've already built on site, matched against the qualification through a formal assessment process. You'll still work with the partner RTO, which carries out a genuine assessment of your evidence before the qualification is issued.
What evidence do I need for RPL in roof plumbing?
Assessors look at photos and short videos, generally around 90 to 120 seconds each, taken on a real, active worksite that clearly show you installing or repairing roof flashings, cladding or drainage systems. The footage needs to show you working in a professional setting so your skills can be matched against the qualification's units.
Is a Certificate III in Roof Plumbing from RPL the same as one from full-time study?
Yes, a Certificate III in Roof Plumbing issued through RPL is the exact same nationally recognised qualification as one earned through a full-time apprenticeship, with identical units on the certificate. It's issued by the ASQA-registered RTO that assesses your evidence, not by ATSR, which guides candidates through the RPL pathway.
Do I need a licence to work as a roof plumber, and does this qualification help?
A Certificate III in Roof Plumbing supports work as a Roof Plumber, installing, maintaining and repairing flashings, metal cladding and rainwater drainage on residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Plumbing trades, including roof plumbing, are licensed in Australia, and licensing requirements are set by each state's regulator, so it's worth checking what applies where you work.
