SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management

Formal recognition for senior hospitality managers who combine broad operational skills with strategic business management to run hospitality venues with full autonomy.
Overview

If you have spent years running the floor, managing budgets and leading teams in a hotel, motel, restaurant, club or catering business, your experience already reflects the standard set for the SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the formal, nationally recognised assessment process that converts that senior management experience into this AQF-registered qualification. ATSR guides you through building the evidence portfolio your partner RTO needs to assess your skills against the qualification’s requirements, so the leadership you have already demonstrated on the job is properly recognised.

How It Works

Once your Student Agreement is signed and your initial payment is confirmed, your RPL journey begins — here's what to expect at each stage.

1
Collect Your Evidence
Using your personalised checklist, gather evidence that demonstrates your skills and experience. This may include employment records, certificates, photos, videos, or supervisor references. Your Navigator will guide you every step of the way.
2
Receive Your Enrolment & RPL Docs
We'll send your Enrolment Form and LLN Assessment to complete first. Following that, you'll receive your SelfAssessment Form and Third-Party Verification Form to work through carefully before moving to the next step.
3
Submit Your Completed Forms
Complete and sign all required forms, then return them along with your full evidence portfolio. Ensure every section is filled in, all signatures are included, and all supporting documents are attached before submitting.
4
Assessment and Competency Review
Your RTO Assessor will review and map your evidence against the required unit competencies. Where further clarification is needed, a competency conversation will be conducted to confirm your knowledge and skills.
5
Outcome Issued
Once assessed as competent across all required units, the RTO will formally issue your certificate or Statement of Attainment. Your real-world experience is now officially recognised as a nationally accredited qualification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management through RPL without full-time study?
Yes, if you've been operating at a senior management level in hospitality, that experience can be formally assessed against the Advanced Diploma instead of you completing a full course. ATSR guides you through preparing your evidence, and our partner RTO carries out the formal assessment.
What evidence do you need for RPL at Advanced Diploma level in hospitality management?
You need evidence of senior operational and financial management, such as strategic or operational business plans you've developed and implemented, financial reports or forecasts showing your management of organisational finances, and budgets you've prepared. The assessor is checking your experience against the higher-level scope of the advanced diploma.
Is an RPL Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management the same as one from a training provider?
Yes, it's the identical AQF-registered Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, issued by an ASQA-registered RTO no matter which pathway you take. RPL recognises the senior experience you already have — it isn't a separate or lesser qualification.
Can RPL help a venue manager move into an area manager or operations manager role?
An Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management through RPL gives you the same qualification behind area manager, motel manager and operations manager roles, which involve overseeing teams and operations across multiple venues. It formally recognises multi-site or strategic management experience you've already built in the industry.
