How It Works

Once your Student Agreement is signed and your initial payment is confirmed, your RPL journey begins — here's what to expect at each stage.

1
Collect Your Evidence
Using your personalised checklist, gather evidence that demonstrates your skills and experience. This may include employment records, certificates, photos, videos, or supervisor references. Your Navigator will guide you every step of the way.
2
Receive Your Enrolment & RPL Docs
We'll send your Enrolment Form and LLN Assessment to complete first. Following that, you'll receive your Self-Assessment Form and Third-Party Verification Form to work through carefully before moving to the next step.
3
Submit Your Completed Forms
Complete and sign all required forms, then return them along with your full evidence portfolio. Ensure every section is filled in, all signatures are included, and all supporting documents are attached before submitting.
4
Assessment and Competency Review
Your RTO Assessor will review and map your evidence against the required unit competencies. Where further clarification is needed, a competency conversation will be conducted to confirm your knowledge and skills.
5
Outcome Issued
Once assessed as competent across all required units, the RTO will formally issue your certificate or Statement of Attainment. Your real-world experience is now officially recognised as a nationally accredited qualification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice through RPL instead of studying full-time?−

Yes, you may be able to apply for RPL if you already have relevant project management experience. Your skills and knowledge must still be assessed against the qualification requirements. ATSR can guide you through the process and help you prepare your evidence, while a partner RTO carries out the formal assessment.

How much project experience do I need to apply for RPL for this qualification?+

There's no fixed number of years — what counts is being able to show real evidence that you've done the work, such as project plans, schedules, reports or scope documents you've authored, plus supervisor or client testimonials confirming your role. Meeting minutes and other project records can also help build the picture assessors need to match your experience against each unit.

Is an RPL Certificate IV in Project Management Practice the same as one from TAFE?+

Yes. If a partner RTO assesses your skills and confirms that you meet the requirements, it issues the same nationally recognised Certificate IV in Project Management Practice. RPL is a different way to have your existing skills assessed, not a separate qualification. ATSR provides guidance and support throughout the process but does not issue the certificate.

What jobs can I get with a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice?+

This qualification supports roles such as Contracts Officer, Project Administrator and Quality Officer, where you're managing contracts, coordinating project documentation or supporting compliance across a project. It's formal backing for people already doing this kind of work on projects without a recognised qualification behind them.

What evidence can I use for Certificate IV in Project Management Practice RPL?+

Evidence may include project plans, schedules, meeting minutes, reports, scope documents and records showing your role in coordinating project work. Supervisor or client feedback may also help explain your responsibilities. ATSR can guide you on preparing relevant evidence, and a partner RTO assesses it against the qualification requirements.
