Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management through RPL?
Yes, RPL lets your existing leadership and management experience be formally assessed against the requirements of the BSB60420 Advanced Diploma. A partner RTO reviews your evidence and carries out the assessment needed to confirm your skills meet the national standard.
How much management experience do I need for RPL on this qualification?
There's no fixed amount of experience required — what matters is having enough real evidence of leading and managing at a senior level to match against the qualification's units. Project plans or scope documents you've developed, budgets or financial reports you've managed, risk registers you've prepared, and stakeholder communications are the kind of evidence that supports an application.
Is an RPL Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management the same as one from full-time study?
Yes, it's the exact same AQF-registered qualification, issued by an ASQA-registered RTO, no matter which pathway you took to get it. RPL is a different route to the identical credential, built around recognising skills you've already developed.
Does this qualification support moving from team leader into a manager or department manager role?
It's built around roles such as Manager, Department Manager, Area Manager and Managing Director, covering planning, organising, directing and reviewing day-to-day operations and major functions of an organisation. That reflects a step up into broader operational and people-leadership responsibility.
