Get recognised for the skills you already use guiding children’s learning and development in a real early childhood setting. The CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is for educators who design and implement curriculum against an approved learning framework, maintain compliance across service operations, and may supervise volunteers or other educators in long day care, family day care, pre-school or kindergarten settings. Through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), the work you have already done can be assessed against this nationally recognised qualification rather than starting formal training from the beginning.

Yes, if you've been working in early childhood education and care you can have that experience formally assessed for the Diploma rather than starting a course from the beginning. ATSR helps you pull together your evidence, and the actual assessment against the qualification is carried out by our partner RTO.
You need documented evidence that shows you can do the job at diploma level, such as curriculum or program plans you've developed and delivered against an approved learning framework, and risk assessments or safety records that show how you keep a service safe. The assessor is checking that your day-to-day work covers the full range of skills and knowledge in the qualification.
Yes, it's the identical AQF-registered Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, issued by an ASQA-registered RTO whether you complete it through classroom study or RPL. RPL doesn't create a separate or lesser credential — it's a different, equally valid route to the same qualification.
A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care gained through RPL is the same qualification that early childhood educator and other diploma-level roles in the sector are built around. It formally documents the curriculum, compliance and child development skills you've already been applying on the job.
