UEE42725 Certificate IV in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Servicing

Formal recognition for technicians undertaking high-level fault diagnosis, commissioning and maintenance of refrigeration systems applying to commercial food storage, air conditioning and special applications.
Overview

Turn years of hands-on senior refrigeration and air conditioning servicing into the UEE42725 Certificate IV in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Servicing, a nationally recognised qualification covering high-level fault diagnosis and rectification, commissioning and maintenance of refrigeration systems and equipment applying to commercial food storage and preservation, air conditioning, air distribution equipment and special applications. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows your senior servicing experience to be formally assessed against this qualification rather than starting your learning over. Once your evidence is assessed and confirmed by our partner RTO, you hold the same AQF-recognised Certificate IV as anyone who completed the qualification through classroom-based study. This qualification meets the training components for the full national Refrigerant Handling Licence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get the Certificate IV in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Servicing through RPL?
Yes, RPL lets your air conditioning and refrigeration servicing experience be formally assessed against the requirements of the UEE42725 qualification. A partner RTO reviews your evidence and conducts the assessment needed to confirm you meet the national standard.
What kind of evidence is needed for RPL at Certificate IV level in air conditioning and refrigeration?
Assessors look for evidence of higher-level work than a trade certificate, not a set number of years. High-level fault diagnosis or rectification records, commissioning records for commercial food storage, air conditioning or special application systems, and other records of complex work you've carried out all support your case.
Is an RPL Certificate IV in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Servicing the same as one from full-time training?
Yes, it's the exact same AQF-registered qualification, issued by an ASQA-registered RTO, regardless of the pathway taken to get it. RPL recognises the skills you've already built rather than being a different or lesser credential.
Can this qualification help me move into a supervisory or project design role in air conditioning?
It's built around roles such as Air Conditioning Technician and Air Conditioning and Mechanical Services Technician working at a higher level, including project design and staff supervision. That reflects a step up from routine servicing work into taking responsibility for how jobs are planned and run.
