How It Works

Once your Student Agreement is signed and your initial payment is confirmed, your RPL journey begins — here's what to expect at each stage.

1
Collect Your Evidence
Using your personalised checklist, gather evidence that demonstrates your skills and experience. This may include employment records, certificates, photos, videos, or supervisor references. Your Navigator will guide you every step of the way.
2
Receive Your Enrolment & RPL Docs
We'll send your Enrolment Form and LLN Assessment to complete first. Following that, you'll receive your SelfAssessment Form and Third-Party Verification Form to work through carefully before moving to the next step.
3
Submit Your Completed Forms
Complete and sign all required forms, then return them along with your full evidence portfolio. Ensure every section is filled in, all signatures are included, and all supporting documents are attached before submitting.
4
Assessment and Competency Review
Your RTO Assessor will review and map your evidence against the required unit competencies. Where further clarification is needed, a competency conversation will be conducted to confirm your knowledge and skills.
5
Outcome Issued
Once assessed as competent across all required units, the RTO will formally issue your certificate or Statement of Attainment. Your real-world experience is now officially recognised as a nationally accredited qualification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a Certificate III in Beauty Services through RPL without doing a full course?
Yes, if you've been working in beauty services, that experience can be formally assessed against the Certificate III instead of you enrolling in a complete course. ATSR helps you organise your evidence, and the formal assessment is carried out by our partner RTO.
What evidence do you need for RPL in beauty services?
You need evidence from a real, active workplace, such as photos of you clearly working in a professional salon, spa or clinic setting and short videos showing you performing relevant beauty treatments. The assessor uses this evidence to confirm your skills against the full scope of the certificate.
Is an RPL Certificate III in Beauty Services the same as one from a beauty college?
Yes, it's the same nationally recognised Certificate III in Beauty Services, issued by an ASQA-registered RTO whether you complete it through classroom study or RPL. RPL recognises real skills you already have through a formal assessment process, not a lesser version of the same certificate.
Does a Certificate III in Beauty Services qualify you to work as a beautician offering waxing, lash or nail services?
A Certificate III in Beauty Services is the qualification behind the beautician role, covering waxing, lash and brow, nail, tanning and make-up services in a salon, spa or clinic. Getting it through RPL formally recognises the treatment skills and client service experience you've already built in the industry.
