Formal recognition for individuals who undertake specialist risk management roles in financial services organisations, covering finance, compliance, corporate governance, strategy and business continuity.
Overview

Turn years of hands-on financial risk management experience into the FNS60822 Advanced Diploma of Integrated Risk Management, a nationally recognised qualification for individuals who undertake specialist risk management roles in financial services organisations. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows your experience researching, analysing and evaluating risk information, and providing guidance on finance, compliance, corporate governance and business continuity, to be formally assessed against this qualification rather than starting your learning over. Once your evidence is assessed and confirmed by our partner RTO, you hold the same AQF-recognised Advanced Diploma as anyone who completed the qualification through classroom-based study.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get the Advanced Diploma of Integrated Risk Management through RPL?
Yes, if you've been working in risk management, RPL lets an RTO formally assess your real experience against the Advanced Diploma instead of putting you through full-time study. It's still a proper assessment process — you need to provide evidence that clearly demonstrates your risk management skills.
What evidence is used to assess RPL for risk management experience?
Evidence typically includes financial reports, reconciliations or budgets you've prepared, and records showing your involvement in managing financial risk or exposure. The assessor matches this evidence against the units in the qualification, so records that show your actual decisions and responsibilities carry the most weight.
Is an RPL Advanced Diploma of Integrated Risk Management the same qualification as one from full-time training?
Yes, it's the same AQF-registered qualification issued by an ASQA-registered RTO, regardless of the pathway used to get it. RPL doesn't produce a different or lesser certificate — it's simply another way of proving you already meet the standard.
What kind of role does this qualification lead to?
This qualification is aimed at Financial Risk Manager roles, where you work with commercial and investment banks on financial risk and funding, identify sources of risk and manage exposure using financial instruments. It's suited to people already operating at this level who want formal recognition of that expertise.
